Homelessness is an endemic problem in Portland, and while there are many contributing factors skyrocketing residential rent looms large among them. In 2020 we built Jolene's First Cousin in hopes of using our tool kit (real estate, finance, and design) to put a dent in Portland's Homelessness problem.

However, we know that one Jolene is not enough. As promised, we introduce you to Jolene's Second Cousin. Jolene's Second Cousin will be located just off Sister City's & Guerrilla Developments Rocket Empire Machine. Similar to Jolene's First Cousin, this property also will have 11 single resident occupancy (SRO) arrangement. The SRO rooms will share amenities: fully-outfitted kitchen, living and dining room, private landscaped courtyard, showers, toilets, and laundry facilities. Each room will have its own bed, closet, and sink. The SRO residents self-govern, establishing ground rules and operational systems.

Once again, we won't stop here. We will nestle these projects into every major neighborhood in Portland making sure that Jolene has many cousins all over our city.
